CN integrated the press with its existing newspaper press, said Guy Forrester, CN's general manager. According to Kodak, CN is assessing how it will incorporate digital printing within its newspaper production environment.

"We're very excited about the potential of this innovative technology," Forrester said in a statement. "We can already see the high-quality match with the newsprint.

"At present, we're printing 60,000 newspapers per hour. If we can maintain these speeds and print variable data inline, it will be a huge boost to our business."
