Playboy's circulation drops 34% over last year
In a report, the bureau said that Playboy's circulation, including paid subscriptions and single-copy sales, was 1.63 million as of June 30, compared to 2.45 million at the end of the period last year.
The Chicago-based company, which also has a cable TV operation and licenses Playboy bunny products worldwide, has been cutting employees, including 18 in the second quarter of this year, and outsourcing some tasks to try to return to profitability.
Still, the company posted a wider second-quarter loss last week. The company has said it expects to post a profit by next year.
