Playboy rumored to be selling to the privately owned Iconix Brand Group

The potential sale of the company rests in the hands of Hugh Hefner who still owns 70 percent of the company's stock.
Hefner got Playboy off the ground in 1953, publishing the first issue of the magazine and built an empire around sexy women posing in classy yet nude spreads and centerfolds. Now 56 years later, the legend has the deciding vote on whether the magazine will go private.
The famous mansion is owned by the company rather than Hefner alone so the possibility of Hef and the twins being forced to move should the company sell is a reality.
A question that should be asked is whether the magazine will remain the same if it is turned over to the hands of a private company. Only time will tell.
