Newspapers digital in 10 years: Murdoch
''We think of newspapers in the old-fashioned way, printed on crushed wood so to speak, [but] it's going to be digital,'' the 78-year-old media mogul said on Monday in an interview on News Corp's Fox Business channel in the US.''Within 10 years I believe nearly all newspapers will be delivered digitally [either on computers or electronic reading devices]," he added.Asked whether there wouldn't always be printed editions of the Journal or New York Times, Mr Murdoch said: ''I can see the day, it may be 20 years away, where you don't actually have paper and ink and printing presses."But the expected decline of print would not spell the end for newspaper journalism, with digital delivery forms including the internet, BlackBerrys or electronic readers such as Amazon's Kindle becoming the new ways of news consumption, he said."If you've got a newspaper with a great name and great reputation, and you are trusted, the people in that community are going to need access to your source of news," Mr Murdoch said.
