Bauer launches home cooking magazine
Aiming to "capitalize on the UK's increasing obsession with home cooking" the monthly magazine will be priced at £2.50 and will offer readers tips on home cooking "packaged in a fun and friendly format" according to the publisher. It will hit the newstands on March 31.Managing director David Goodchild admitted that the launch in the current economic climate was "ambitious" but added: "We've seen the positive impact on magazine sales as the nation continues to be inspired by top chefs and TV personalities who have helped reignite the nation's love affair with cooking at home.""Eat In will capture this enthusiasm by celebrating the joy of creating simple, delicious dishes using quality, affordable and easily accessible ingredients."The launch will be supported by what the publisher calls "substantial marketing and retail activity".Eat In will compete with monthlies such as the BBC's Olive, Easy Cook and market leader Good Food, as well as Seven Publishing's Delicious.The launch of Eat In also follows the launch late last year of the similarly themed bi-monthly Jamie Magazine, which the celebrity chef Jamie Oliver personally funded to the tune of around £250,000.H Bauer also publishes true life sector market leader Take a Break, Bella and TV Quick.Conde Nast is launching two magazines this year – the twice-yearly style title Love has already launched, while Wired UK, the local version of the American tech lifestyle magazine, will launch next month.More ...
