Ad market plunges 6.1%

... with revenue for media owners down 6.1% overall compared to June 2011.

The latest round of Standard Media Index figures revealed that total agency bookings had declined in total, with newspapers, magazines and TV suffering the worst drops.

Magazine advertising revenue fell 19.7% in January compared to the same month last year.

Newspapers, including all metro and regional, fared quite poorly as well, recording a 15.4% decline.
