ABCe: Mail Online draws highest ever readership

Mail Online cemented its position as the most visited UK national newspaper website by drawing a record audience in the traditionally quiet month of July.The Mail Online website, which includes content from the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday and thisismoney.co.uk, pulled the highest ever national newspaper website audience of 29,872,465 unique users last month, according to data released today by the Audit Bureau of Circulations.This figure constituted a 59.7 per cent year-on-year rise in its web traffic, beating the previous record high of 29,811,671 achieved by the website of the Guardian in January this year as national newspaper websites edged ever closer to the elusive figure of 30m monthly unique users.Mail Online's previous highest ever web traffic was achieved in June, when it drew 29,373,379 unique users.Guardian.co.uk remained the second most popular newspaper website, drawing 26,990,072 unique users last month, a rise of 30.88 per cent year on year.This figure just pipped Telegraph.co.uk which drew 26,479,638 unique users in July, up 41.25 per cent year on year.More ...
